La Aurora 100 Anos

La Aurora 100 Anos

This cigar is limited and one of the higher rated cigars by Cigar Aficionado. Each cigar has a separate label under cigar band that shows you its number of production and verifies its authenticity. I had it with some espresso in the middle of a winter afternoon...

The construction looks very solid. The wrapper is shiny with a nice burnt sienna color. It smells sweet with hints of almond and nutmeg.

The first puff is smooth. No bitterness or burnt flavor. The burn is consistent. There are some hot spots and it begins to burn unevenly.

There is a consistent warm cinnamon and cedar flavor with a dryness on the palate. It begins to burn a bit unevenly and needs to be re-lit. It continues to burn with fuller flavor of strong cedar and roasted nuts. The dryness sits on the back of the palate.

This cigar would do well with a nice vintage port or a dark Belgian ale. The taste lingers a bit after the smoke, but not in a bad way. There is a bit of sweetness.
